The history of punch
Punch, or bowl in the Netherlands, was introduced in the early 17th century at parties. The idea comes from India and was brought by the British to Europe. It was called Punch because it consisted originally of five ingredients; one hand full. In the beginning Punch was made with wine or brandy. Later on variants were made. In the seventies soda's were introduced.
